i get ear pain when i fly beyond what normal people go through, it is crippling and causes me to go deaf for a day or 2 after i land. i really love to travel but most places you need to fly, especially the carribean, chartering a yacht is out of the question, so is are there any ferries or w/e to get from the us to the islands, not a cruise ship, i want to spend my vacation entirely at a resort
thanks
You can take a ferry from Florida to the Bahamas, but as far as I know you need to fly to get to the Caribbean islands. Although once you get there you can island hop on water taxis to your hearts content.
But if you have issues because of the change in pressure you may want to see if you can get down in Florida via car and then take a small plane to San Juan. Since they don’t go up anywhere near as high as a jet plane, you may not have such a severe problem.
Once you get to San Juan there is a ferry to Saint Thomas, but once you get to Saint Thomas you can pretty much ferry anywhere and it’s not expensive. The ferry prices run from like $7 to $60 depending on where you go from where.
If you can stand trying the small plane to get to San Juan I would recommend it. I was in Saint Croix in January and it was BEAUTIFUL.
You could try walking or driving, but you may drown. How about tying a bunch of two liter bottles together and pretending to be American refugees seeking assylum?

Professional Peon gave you a good answer. Also, when you get into certain islands from Florida you can go to others via ferry as well!
